
Allan Maidment
Allan Maidment has over 40 years experience in criminal practice having qualified as a Solicitor in 1976. He was a partner of Jones Maidment Wilson 1976 to 1993 and founded Maidments Solicitors in 1993. The firm was incorporated as Maidments Solicitors Limited in 2004.
He has attained Higher Court Rights Status for Criminal Litigation enabling him to practice in the Magistrates Court, Crown Court and Appeal Courts.
Allan is a Duty Solicitor, Supervisor for the Legal Services Commission Franchise and a Supervisor for the firm in respect of the firms membership of the Very High Cost Case Panel.
Recognising the need for a representative body of specialist fraud lawyers, he promoted the creation of the Serious Fraud Association and was its founding Chairman and is currently Vice Chairman. He is a member of the Manchester and Birmingham Law Societies.
He has significant experience in high profile cases of Serious Fraud, including diversion, MTIC, insurance and banking fraud, and Serious Crime, including representation in long running complex investigations

Shane Parkin
Personal Experience
Shane has over 20 years experience of criminal legal practice. He has been a member of staff since the inception of Maidments Solicitors in 1993. He has extensive experience in the detailed preparation of very complex and difficult cases of serious crime and commercial fraud.
Shane was admitted as a Solicitor in 2004 and has since gained Duty Solicitor status and is a Supervisor for the firms franchise granted under the Legal Services Commission.
He heads our North West Crown Court department providing direction and guidance to other members of staff within the team.
Shane has enjoyed a wide ranging case experience from murder to international drug trafficking cases, as well as very high cost case fraud work.

Mary Dickinson
Personal Experience
Mary has over 30 years experience of criminal defence work and is one of the most highly regarded members of staff having joined the practice in 1997. She has an immense breadth and depth of criminal practice and has an outstanding reputation in criminal defence circles for her tenacious case preparation.
Mary’s track record is of achieving exceptional results in her work which consists only of the most serious and complex cases of serious crime and commercial fraud.

Sally Shaw
Personal Experience
Sally has worked with Allan Maidment since 1989 and was instrumental in the establishment of Maidments in 1993.
She fulfils many roles within the firm including advertising, business development, and practice management, as well as developing new systems within the firm to provide for costs management of work, including cases contracted to the Legal Services Commission Complex Crime Unit.
She is one of the most important figures, presenting a calm, efficient and dedicated style of management which has been a consistent contributor to the successful development of the office.

Jody Johnstone
Personal Experience
Jody is the Office Manager based at River House, Salford, where the firm operates its Accounts and Practice Management Departments. She joined Maidments in 1997 having obtained qualifications in Business Studies.
She has particular responsibility for the smooth operation of the Accounts Department which covers our entire office network, applying IT and Accounting Systems specifically developed for the firms use to the accounting and business management needs of the firm.
Jody has been a significant contributor to the development of the practice, and in particular, efficient running of the firms client care relationships.
